After his 12-year-old son Keelan won his first Limited Late Model race this weekend with Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Racing, former NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick was ecstatic. In November of last year, Keelan, who began go-kart racing at the age of seven, finished eighth in his Limited Late Model event at Florence Motor Speedway. He started the 11-car race in the pole position and led every lap during this Saturday’s Icebreaker, finishing four seconds ahead of Ricky Loclair Jr. Kevin posted on social media to express his joy, writing: “Today was a proud parent moment! @KeelanHarvick finished on the pole and led all 50 laps to win his first Limited Late Model race at FMSpeedway2025. I’m excited to see what he has in store this season.

On July 16, the father and son team will compete together for Rackley W.A.R. in the JEGS All-Stars Tour. A $25,000 prize is up for grabs in the Masters of the Pro’s 200 race at Owosso Speedway’s 0.375-mile paved short track.

Keelan, the son of Kevin Harvick, said, “I can’t thank them enough” on KHI Racing

In a post on X, Keelan Harvick also expressed gratitude to his parents, Kevin Harvick and DeLana, of KHI Racing. KHI participated in the Xfinity and NASCAR Truck Series, winning two driver’s titles in the former in 2007 and 2009. Last year, it made a comeback to late model racing in the CARS Tour.

“What a day! At the Icebreaker @FmSpeedway2025, I took first place in my first Limited Late Model race! I led all 50 laps while perched on the pole! I am really grateful to the folks at @khi_racing for their hard work in getting me a fast car.

At the conclusion of the 2023 season, Kevin Harvick announced his retirement from full-time NASCAR racing. He currently serves as a FOX Sports pundit. This season, the 49-year-old will compete in 15 races in the Cars Tour West’s Pro Late Model and Super Late Model classes. He also revealed a collaboration between KHI and Willie Allen’s co-owned Rackley W.A.R. last year. “The Pros and Supers are distinct creatures, even if KHI had some success in the Late Model Stock world this year. Although Keelan and I still intend to participate in the CARS Tour the next year, Rackley W.A.R.’s strong and established track record will significantly accelerate our learning curve in the Super and Pro Late Models,” Harvick said in a statement last October.

Harvick will assist Rackley W.A.R. as a consultant for its 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team with rookie Dawson Sutton.
