Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the most prominent of the various sounds that NASCAR fans have become accustomed to hearing over the years. When he’s not shouting “Slide Job, Slide Job!” in the boot, he’s entertaining his fans with NASCAR teasing, rumors, and updates on his podcast, Dale Jr. Download. Junior, though, has done the unimaginable. In one recent installment, Dale Jr. was completely out of the picture! Apparently Junior is sick! And in his massive network of podcasts under ‘Dirty Mo Media’ he’s added a new one: ‘Bless your Hardt.’ It’s got Junior and his wife as hosts talking about their lives.
The show just started, and Amy had some bad news to share: “He’s been fighting a pretty bad fever.” We don’t know what caused it yet, but the veteran is on bed rest. However, Junior recently gave an update, and NASCAR fans were relieved and sent him heartfelt messages for a speedy recovery. After Junior was knocked out sick, Amy invited her best friend Jamie Goddard to be on the new podcast, where she discussed Junior’s condition: “Yes, he’s still very under the weather. He’s been fighting a pretty bad fever. Off and on for the last two days. So he has been relinquished to our guest bedroom so that I don’t get.”
Even though I have a head cold, my symptoms are not quite as severe as his. We know Junior, though, and he doesn’t allow a fever stop him from being funny and delighting his followers. Dale Earnhardt Jr. thought it was a blessing in disguise and posted the update casually, as if it were no big deal. “I felt like I should apologize for being out sick for this episode, but after you listen you may want to thank me,” a proud Junior wrote on X, praising Amy for hosting a podcast alone. In a pinch, these two did an amazing job. Proud of my Amy. Side note: finally turning the corner and feeling better.”
Apparently it’s some kind of flu and the couple’s daughters Nicole and Isla caught it in school. And while they are better now, it’s Junior’s turn. He’s been isolated from the rest of the family in the guest bedroom, with Amy only making contact with him to give him the vitamins or maybe some medicines. Also, she claims a sick Junior is a crankier Junior. Even more than their daughters. “You know how most men do that… He’s worse than the children. He even said that yesterday. He’s like, ‘If this is how the girls felt, surely they didn’t feel this bad because they were not acting like they felt this bad.’ I don’t know if that’s a kid thing or if that’s just a you thing,” Amy shared. So maybe he’s better off being well. And that’s one thing common that both Amy and Junior fans feel.
Jokes apart…race weekend is coming up and all the fans want him back in his podcast chair.
Fans send prayers for Junior
He may be lying in bed, but humoring his fans and NASCAR is all that is in his head! Look at his most recent update on X: “Was laying in bed with a fever watching the 1988 Nascar season as one does when they are ill. During the Martinsville broadcast they mentioned that Neil Bonnet was rumored to be going to Hendrick Motorsports the next season. I asked Rick and he didn’t recall that being a thing, and they did keep the same lineup in 1989. But just fun to imagine if that had some true.” Now, had Junior been well, he could have done a whole episode on this and it would have been a great watch. And fans miss that.
They hope he recovers quickly, returns to his active self, and releases a ton of podcasts. “Feel better man,” one fan remarked. You’ve been depressed for a few days. His followers require a daily dose of Junior, just as he is already taking vitamins. Particularly when there isn’t a race. “Why did you get a fever?” said another fan, reflecting the same sentiment. Dude, don’t be getting sick on us. Additionally, Dale Jr. has received an ultimatum from another fan: “This weekend, feel better!” We also concur with him. Well, it’s a road course race, so Junior should relax. It’s COTA. It has a fresh layout as well. There will be a lot of great developments soon. We definitely want Junior’s professional input on it all.
Junior’s selections for the race are eagerly anticipated by all. Does he have a different ringer in mind, or is he sticking with the apparent SVG response? Come on Junior, just listen to this fan: “I hope you feel better soon 🙏,” and get well. According to Amy’s most recent podcast, Junior is recuperating swiftly and ought to be fully recovered by the start of the Cup race, at the latest. Even some treatments for Junior’s quick recovery were given by one admirer. “Dale, feel better soon,” he wrote. I recently recovered from a cold, but I always feel like way when I’m sick. Be sure to stay hydrated!
