Jerry Jones is bullish on the Cowboys’ disappointing pitching staff.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed optimism about the team’s running backs after recently adding Dalvin Cook to the practice squad. Along with Ezekiel Elliott, who signed to the practice squad today, and other options like Rico Dowdle, Dawes Vaughn and Malik Davis, Jones is confident the Cowboys have the depth and flexibility they need to be successful this season. “We’re going to have some flexibility here,” Jones said. Malik Davis is back at practice. Put Dalvin on the practice squad. “We’re all looking forward to seeing what Zeke can do for us.”

One area where Jones highlighted the need for improvement was the red zone offense. The Cowboys struggled to put the ball in the end zone last season, and Jones believes an improved quarterback will solve that problem. “We needed improvement, especially in the red zone,” Jones said. “We had to improve our running game to get in the end zone. All of this strengthens her.”

Overall, Jones said he’s pleased with the current state of the Cowboys’ backfield. “I’m very happy to be back now,” Jones concluded. The addition of Cook, a four-time Pro Bowler, gives the Cowboys a proven player who can contribute as a running back and receiver. Elliott hopes to bounce back a year later, and Cook is eager to prove he still has plenty of resources. The Cowboys backfield will be one of the most interesting stories of the season.
