Breaking News: Surprising Details Surface Regarding Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys’ Contract Standoff

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have a deadline to sign a new contract before the 2024 NFL season approaches.

The two sides are said to be in talks, but if Jerry Jones and his team is interested in the experienced player for the year 2025, the time has expired to sign a contract.

As the negotiations continue, we will find out what has stopped the contract talks. Diana Rossini of The Athletic reported on her Scoop City podcast that the contract extension is delaying the talks.

It isn’t hyperbole to say that the next few days could be some of the most important for the next half decade for the Dallas Cowboys.

They are at a fork in the road: Pay Dak and head that way, or venture into the unknown.

“Quitting this season, as far as I’m concerned, is the number of years the Dallas Cowboys want to give up,” he said during the debate, which begins at 8:07. Prescott is looking for a long time to manage, while Dallas plans to keep him “more than two, three, four years.”

He added: “He’s hoping to get a long-term commitment from Dallas. So hanging here is the faith of the Dallas Cowboys. This is a guy who has won a lot of games. But it’s Just enough?

Winning isn’t enough for Jerry Jones. We know this. They want to do more than win games. They want to be a club that can compete in the Super Bowl.

Entering the 2024 NFL season, the final year of his contract, Prescott is betting on himself. It has a no-trade, no-trade clause, meaning he will be an unrestricted buyer if there is no trade.

The Cowboys will be in trouble and will have to compete to re-sign Prescott. If a job is not completed ahead of time, the cost will only increase. And Prescott, last year’s NFL MVP candidate, knows he’s in charge.

Prescott had one of his best seasons. He passed for 4,516 yards, 36 NFL touchdowns and nine interceptions. Prescott was named to the All-Pro second team and qualified for his third Pro Bowl appearance. Prescott is on track to become the highest paid player in the league.

The question is whether to stay with the Cowboys or another team. Dallas takes on the Cleveland Browns on the road on Sunday, September 8 to open the 2024 season. Tom Brady premieres on FOX.
