3-time Pro Bowler with 4,516 Yards and 36 Touchdowns: Cowboys Star Linked to Jets in Major Trade Proposal

The future of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is uncertain, and the New York Jets could emerge as a potential landing spot if they decide to part ways with Aaron Rodgers next season. Prescott, a three-time Pro Bowler, could become a key target for the Jets as they seek a new quarterback.

Prescott is currently in the final year of his contract with the Cowboys, and negotiations for an extension have yet to yield results. With no franchise tag available, he could enter free agency next offseason if an agreement is not reached.

According to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, the Jets could be one of the top destinations for Prescott if he hits the open market.

“We don’t know how Rodgers will perform in 2024 or whether the Jets would want him back once the season ends,” Knox writes. “Rodgers could return to Pro Bowl form, but he’s coming off a ruptured Achilles and will turn 41 in December. If things don’t go well this season, Rodgers, head coach Robert Saleh, and general manager Joe Douglas could all be gone by 2025. Prescott would likely be at the top of a new regime’s list as a quarterback option.”

Rodgers, despite his Hall of Fame career, has only played four snaps for the Jets after his Achilles injury. Meanwhile, Prescott is coming off a stellar season in which he threw for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, finishing second in MVP voting.

If the Jets look to move on from Rodgers, Prescott could be the centerpiece of a new era in New York.
