Major Trade Proposal Could Send Eagles’ Two-Time Pro Bowler to the Detroit Lions

The New York Jets acquired star linebacker Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles following the 2023 season. However, Reddick has yet to report to the Jets as he seeks a new contract, leading to significant fines.

There’s growing uncertainty about whether Reddick will ever suit up for the Jets or if he’ll be traded once again. He has already requested a trade, and it seems like a real possibility. Kristopher Knox from Bleacher Report pointed to the Detroit Lions as a potential landing spot.

“Haason Reddick is still the biggest name in trade discussions due to his ongoing contract dispute with the Jets,” Knox said. “Reddick is pushing for a new deal and has formally asked for a trade.

He was absent for Monday night’s game against the 49ers, and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Reddick has already accumulated $5 million in fines while missing game checks worth about $800,000 each.

“It’s hard to imagine Reddick backing down before the Jets do… The Lions could step in and should think about adding a high-level player to complement Aidan Hutchinson.

Detroit’s defense performed well against the Rams, but with their Super Bowl window just opening, they shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring in more talent.”
