Josh Reynolds #11 of the Denver Broncos was involved in a shooting incident on Friday, October 18.

The Broncos wide receiver was shot twice—once in the arm and once in the “back of the head,” as reported by documents obtained by 9News, according to Mike Klis of 9News on October 24.

The Broncos secured a 33-10 victory over the New Orleans Saints during Thursday Night Football in Week 7.

Later that night, Reynolds and two friends visited a local strip club. After leaving around 3 a.m. MT, they were followed by their attacker.

“Shortly after 3 a.m. on Oct. 18, a 911 call reported a shooting near East Hampden Avenue and South Dahlia Street. The caller, driving a blue Ford Bronco, stated he had been shot, according to court documents obtained by 9NEWS,” Klis wrote.

“Officers arrived at the scene and found the victims. Reynolds, according to court documents, had been shot twice—once in his left arm and once in the back of his head. Another man had been shot in the back, while a third victim sustained injuries from shattered glass. All three had scrapes from climbing over a fence, the documents noted.”

The Broncos issued a statement, acknowledging the incident while deferring further comments to law enforcement.

“Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries,” the Broncos said in a statement, per Klis in a post on X on October 24. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”

No incidents were reported at the club itself, but two men—Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza—have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Police obtained video surveillance footage from the club.

According to Klis, the documents revealed that Mendoza entered “Shotgun Willie’s” around midnight. He did not interact with the performers but observed the three victims and followed them as they left.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Reynolds was treated for minor injuries and released after a hospital evaluation.

“Following a scary incident on Friday in which he was a shooting victim, Josh Reynolds is OK after sustaining only minor injuries,” Klis shared in a follow-up post on X. “The Broncos have been in contact with Reynolds since Friday, and he has been attending practices all week.”
