Although the Buffalo Bills didn’t make any trades before the NFL’s 2024 deadline, that doesn’t necessarily mean a move isn’t in the works.
Could defensive tackle Jordan Phillips rejoin the Bills, who currently stand at 7-2? There may be a chance of that.
Phillips, 32, was released by the Dallas Cowboys on trade deadline day.
Shortly after news of his release broke, Phillips posted something intriguing on social media. On his Instagram account, he shared a picture from his time in Buffalo.
The caption simply read, “run it back.”
Neither the Bills nor Phillips have confirmed that he’s returning to Buffalo. However, his post has certainly stirred up speculation that a reunion could be on the horizon.
Phillips’ time with the Cowboys in 2024 has been unusual. He initially signed with the New York Giants in the spring, only to be traded to Dallas. After a limited role with the Cowboys, he was placed on injured reserve due to a wrist injury, a move he didn’t seem pleased about.
Phillips last played for the Bills in 2023, the end of his second stint with the team. His career-best season came in 2019, during his first stretch in Buffalo, when he recorded 9.5 sacks.
