Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Engaged to Sarah Jane Ramos
Not everything seems to be going wrong for Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. Despite the team’s struggles this season—marked by internal tension, a winless streak at home, multiple blowout losses, a coach on the hot seat, a faltering run game, and issues with practice routines—Prescott appears to have found personal solace, making a significant life decision this week.
Prescott shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of himself and his longtime girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos kissing while he holds their eight-month-old daughter, Margaret Jane Rose. The baby wore a onesie that read, “Hi Mommy, Daddy has a question for you.”
That question, of course, was about marriage, and the photo strongly suggests that Ramos said “Yes.” Along with the kiss, Ramos was seen wearing a large ring on her left hand.
Prescott captioned the post with, “4ever w/@sarahjane.”
Cowboys Struggling Amid Tough Week
While Prescott’s personal life brought a ray of light, the Cowboys faced a challenging week. It began with an uncomfortable interview featuring team owner and general manager Jerry Jones on 105.7 The Fan in Dallas. Jones not only evaded questions regarding offseason decisions but also criticized the show’s hosts.
“This is not your job,” Jones said. “Your job is not to question all the reasons I made a decision, and I’m not sorry for doing it. That’s not your job. I’ll get someone else to ask these questions, man. I’m serious.”
Following that, another eye-opening interview took place—this time featuring Cowboys legend Troy Aikman, who defended Prescott’s lackluster performance in 2024 compared to the previous season. Aikman shifted the blame to the team’s receivers.
“I think the routes are terrible. I think they’ve run terrible routes for a while,” Aikman said (via Jon Machota of The Athletic). “I think CeeDee (Lamb) needs to improve his route running. As a quarterback, if you’re unsure where your receivers will be, it’s hard to play the position. That’s what I’ve seen.”
Dak Prescott: ‘We’ve Got to Practice Harder’
Despite a 3-3 record heading into their bye week, the vibe around the Cowboys feels more negative than their record suggests. The team has time to regroup before facing the 49ers at the end of the month.
Prescott, who signed a record-breaking four-year, $240 million contract before the season, acknowledged the need for better preparation to get the team back on track.
“We’ve got to practice harder, simple as that,” Prescott said after Thursday’s practice. “You can’t just flip the switch on Sundays. I’ve said that to the guys before, and we need to keep emphasizing it every day during practice and preparation. We need to practice harder, prepare harder, and play harder. It’s a choice.”
