Detroit Lions rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold is feeling the financial consequences after receiving his first fine in the NFL.
In Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the No. 24 overall pick was penalized for a facemask violation, resulting in an $11,255 fine.
In his first two games, the former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back has been flagged for three pass interference calls along with the facemask penalty.
Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn mentioned during his weekly media session that the safeties on the team work well together, and it’s the coaching staff’s responsibility to utilize the strengths of the entire secondary.
Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph appear to be a duo with potential to succeed for many seasons.
Glenn stated, “I think I said last week, man, these guys haven’t had a chance to really – all five of these guys, including Amik (Robertson), haven’t had a chance to really just work together from OTAs all through training camp, and now we’re finally starting to get that.
“And I’m talking about the corners as well. But you’re right, they complement each other extremely well, and we need to capitalize on the skillsets they bring.”
