Linebacker Alex Anzalone is inactive this week, following a brain injury he sustained in last week’s game against the Buccaneers.
Arnold dealt with an illness throughout the week, while Anzalone remained in the league’s concussion protocol.
Head coach Dan Campbell emphasized Sunday morning that the team has maintained focus all week, staying composed after last week’s disappointing performance.
Lions-Cardinals Key Matchup: Aidan Hutchinson vs. the Cardinals Offensive Line
“That’s where you need to keep your focus,” Campbell said to Fox 2 Detroit. “If you start looking too far ahead or getting caught up in perceptions, you lose sight of reality. We know we’re close. We just need to clean things up and move on to the next game. It’s about going 1-0 this week. We have one opponent, one week, and we need one win.”
The Cardinals are coming into this game with momentum, having scored over 40 points against the Los Angeles Rams last week.
“Look, this team is hungry. They’re playing solid football,” Campbell said. “They’ve added talent, and they’re playing strong defense—very active.
They’re protecting their quarterback, running the ball downhill, using play-action passes. He can pull it and run, and they’re being smart about how they do it. They want you to make a mistake. As long as we stick to what we do and let them make the first mistake, that’s how we can take advantage.”
