Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson’s Sister Drop  Update On DE Aidan Injury

The Detroit Lions dominated the Dallas Cowboys on the road Sunday, October 13, securing a 47-9 victory, but the win was clouded by a serious leg injury to Lions edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson. The injury was so severe that Fox chose not to air a replay.

Following the incident, Hutchinson’s sister, Mia Hutchinson, reached out to Lions fans, asking for prayers for her brother. On October 13, she posted on her Instagram story, “Please pray for Aidan,” along with a photo of the two of them. She also shared a clip from coach Dan Campbell’s postgame press conference where he discussed Hutchinson’s condition.

During the press conference, Campbell confirmed that Hutchinson had immediately undergone surgery for a broken tibia.

“Hate it for Hutch. That’s tough,” Campbell said. “He’s in good hands now, but it’s hard losing someone like him. He’ll be out for a while, and we’ll have more details soon. We’re all wishing him the best.”

Before the injury, Hutchinson had recorded three tackles, one sack, and three quarterback hits in the game, bringing his season total to 7.5 sacks.

Lions Impress Despite Hutchinson Injury

Despite Hutchinson’s injury casting a shadow over the victory, NFL analysts have been quick to praise the Lions’ performance.

Frank Schwab of Yahoo Sports remarked in an October 13 article, “Dallas didn’t look like a contender, but the Lions showed how strong they can be.”

He added, “Detroit was better in every aspect on Sunday. The Cowboys have struggled at home, and it’s clear the Lions are among the best teams in the NFL.”

In a USA Today postgame feature, NFL writer Robert Zeglinski reflected on Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ unfortunate 82nd birthday, saying, “Jones got the worst possible birthday gift—confirmation that his team is far from being a contender.”

Zeglinski also criticized the Cowboys, stating, “Jerry Jones has poured hundreds of millions into a Cowboys team that hasn’t been relevant as a serious championship contender in decades. It’s like he gave himself an awful gift.”

Meanwhile, Cameron Ellis of Lombardi Avenue emphasized the impact of Hutchinson’s injury, saying, “It might be the most significant non-quarterback injury. The Lions are still the defending division champs and have consistently played like the team that nearly reached the Super Bowl last year.”

Ellis concluded, “The Lions are strong enough to endure a few key injuries, but losing Hutchinson is devastating. What looked like a competitive division title race just took a major turn. Tough break for Lions fans.”
