Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen Talks Detroit Lions
Speaking with CBS’s Tracy Wolfson after the win, Allen gave credit to Dan Campbell and the Lions, commending their effort and competitiveness. He described the Lions as “one of the best teams in the league” and acknowledged the significance of the game.
“We understand that — the magnitude of this type of game,” Allen said.
While he respected the Lions as a formidable opponent, Allen also expressed confidence in his teammates and their ability to deliver under pressure.
“Never doubt. Our guys did a great job today,” Allen said. “Defense stepped up when they had to. I got a lot of young guys playing right now.”
Allen had a standout performance, throwing for 362 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Impressively, he was not sacked even once during the game.
“We’re just trying to find ways to win,” Allen remarked about the victory. “This is going to help us in the long run. A lot of things we can learn from this game offensively. There’s too many plays we left out there.”
Although Allen was briefly sidelined for an evaluation after the game, he assured reporters it was precautionary after an awkward fall.
“Just took a funky fall, more peace of mind than anything,” Allen explained. “But everything checked out.”
Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff on Loss
After the game, Lions quarterback Jared Goff reflected on the loss and how the team plans to use it as motivation moving forward.
“Maybe it’s a good wakeup call for us,” Goff said during his postgame press conference. “Nice little recalibration for us. Now we get to go on the road.”
He continued, “We had some nice home games we just finished up but now we get to go on the road and it’s us against everyone else again and come together and get a bit tighter and move on.”
Despite the loss, Goff delivered an exceptional performance, throwing for 494 yards and five touchdowns. He expressed optimism about how the defeat could help the team grow.
“I think we will,” Goff said. “If you handle it the right way and recognize where your shortcomings were and get better and move on, yeah, sure, it can be a great thing for the team.”
Goff also emphasized the importance of maintaining urgency as the Lions look ahead to their remaining games.
“We know we have Minnesota on our heels in the division, and we’re battling Philly for the No. 1 seed, and if there’s not urgency now, then there won’t be,” Goff added, reassuring fans that the Lions are focused on their goals.
