Nine Baltimore Ravens, including two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry, have been selected for the Pro Bowl Games.
The Detroit Lions follow with seven players, while the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles each have six representatives on the NFC roster.
For the first time since becoming the Kansas City Chiefs’ starting quarterback in his second season, Patrick Mahomes was not selected to the AFC roster. The three-time Super Bowl MVP and six-time Pro Bowler was not among the five Chiefs chosen, though teammate Travis Kelce made the team for the 10th time.
Washington rookie Jayden Daniels is just the fourth quarterback since 1970 to be selected to the initial Pro Bowl roster. Two other rookies, Raiders tight end Brock Bowers and Rams outside linebacker Jared Verse, are among the 24 first-time selections.
Detroit’s Jared Goff is the NFC’s starting quarterback, with Minnesota’s Sam Darnold also making the roster. The AFC’s starter is Buffalo’s Josh Allen, with Jackson and Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow serving as backups.
Philadelphia’s Saquon Barkley, who became the ninth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards, is the NFC’s starting running back.
San Francisco’s Kyle Juszczyk earned his ninth Pro Bowl selection, the most ever by a fullback. Indianapolis’ Quenton Nelson became just the third offensive lineman since 1970 to be chosen in each of his first seven seasons.
Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase joins an elite group as the fourth wide receiver to make the Pro Bowl in each of his first four seasons. Dallas’ Micah Parsons is the first defensive player to be selected in each of his first four seasons since Aaron Donald, who went to 10 straight.
The Ravens’ other selections include wide receiver Zay Flowers, safety Kyle Hamilton, cornerback Marlon Humphrey, center Tyler Linderbaum, defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike, fullback Patrick Ricard, and inside linebacker Roquan Smith.
Joining Goff from the Lions are safety Brian Branch, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, center Frank Ragnow, right tackle Penei Sewell, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and punter Jack Fox.
The Vikings’ Pro Bowlers include wide receiver Justin Jefferson, outside linebackers Andrew Van Ginkel and Jonathan Greenard, cornerback Byron Murphy, and long snapper Andrew DePaola.
For Philadelphia, right tackle Lane Johnson, center Cam Jurgens, left guard Landon Dickerson, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, and inside linebacker Zack Baun were selected.
The Dolphins, Jets, Titans, and Saints are the only teams without a Pro Bowl representative.
This marks the third year of the Pro Bowl Games, which replaced the traditional full-contact all-star game with weeklong skills competitions and a flag football matchup.
The event will be held in Central Florida, concluding with a seven-on-seven flag football game between the AFC and NFC at Camping World Stadium on Feb. 2.
Peyton and Eli Manning will once again serve as head coaches for their respective conferences.
