Lions Projected to Land An Elite Guard Standing 6’5″ and weighing 325 pounds, He possesses….

In recent years, the Detroit Lions have consistently fielded one of the NFL’s best offensive lines.

With multiple All-Pro talents and strong depth across the unit, the offensive line has been a key factor in the team’s rise to contender status.

However, the Lions face critical decisions this offseason to maintain their dominance in the trenches.

Starting right guard Kevin Zeitler is set to become a free agent, while left guard Graham Glasgow is a potential cap casualty. If either player departs and a replacement isn’t secured before the NFL Draft, the Lions could look to address the position early.

A new mock draft projects Detroit to select an elite guard at pick No. 28—an All-American standout from the SEC.

In his first post-Super Bowl mock draft, Thor Nystrom of Fantasy Life predicts the Lions will draft Alabama guard Tyler Booker in the first round.

There’s plenty to like about Booker as a prospect.

Standing 6’5″ and weighing 325 pounds, he possesses the size and power to dominate on the interior, making him a perfect fit for a team that prioritizes the run game.

According to Pro Football Focus, Booker didn’t allow a single sack in 395 pass-blocking snaps last season.

Declaring for the draft after his junior year, he remains a young prospect, not turning 21 until April—meaning he still has significant room to grow.

Currently projected as the top guard in this draft class, Booker would be a strong option for Detroit if they need to fill a void at the position.

The Lions do have an in-house option in Christian Mahogany, who showed promise in limited snaps as a rookie.

However, if the team hasn’t addressed guard in free agency by draft day, Booker could be an excellent first-round selection—especially if Detroit has already prioritized its defensive needs earlier in the offseason.
