The Buffalo Bills secured a thrilling 30-21 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, November 17, marking a significant win in the NFL season.
While quarterback Josh Allen extended his perfect 3-0 regular-season record against the Chiefs, this win was particularly satisfying as it ended Kansas City’s undefeated streak. The Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, hadn’t lost a game since Christmas Day last year, making this defeat even more notable.
Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, did not attend the game at Highmark Stadium. Though her absence disappointed many fans, Bills linebacker Baylon Spector’s wife, Ryleigh Spector, had a different reaction.
Following the Bills’ victory, Ryleigh shared a photo on her Instagram Stories featuring herself alongside Bills tight end Dawson Knox’s wife, Alexandra Knox, and kicker Tyler Bass’ wife, Ryan Bass. Her caption read, “9-2! Never a Swiftie.”
Baylon Spector, sidelined with a calf injury, did not play in Sunday’s game, as he was placed on injured reserve last week.
Taylor Swift Was Reportedly ‘Shocked’ by Bills Mafia’s Intensity During Last Year’s Playoff Game
A Buffalo Bills fan holds a cardboard cutout of Taylor Swift during the AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Chiefs on January 21, 2024.
Ahead of this Bills-Chiefs matchup, sports analyst Adam Lefkoe revealed on the “Up & Adams” podcast that Swift had been “shocked” by the raucous atmosphere at Highmark Stadium during last season’s playoff clash.
“I have heard from people very close [to the Kelces] that it was not a great experience in Buffalo,” Lefkoe shared with host Kay Adams. “For all parties involved. And I’m talking about the most famous of all the parties.”
Lefkoe explained that the Kelce family expected an exciting, energetic game but were instead met with the full force of Bills Mafia’s notorious passion. “They got there and experienced Bills Mafia in full form—its complete ruthlessness. I think they left saying, ‘I don’t know if I want to experience that again.’”
While some fans doubted Lefkoe’s claims, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce seemed to enjoy the atmosphere during the Chiefs’ 27-24 playoff win. However, Travis Kelce confirmed on his “New Heights” podcast that the environment was intense.
“There was a lot of hate pulling up to that stadium, man,” Travis said. “Understandable—it’s a football game. The Bills, coming into their house, they want to make it rowdy. Did it get a little disrespectful? One thousand percent. Did it get a little extra? One thousand percent.”
Josh Allen Downplays the Importance of Ending the Chiefs’ Perfect Season
After the game, Bills quarterback Josh Allen refrained from celebrating the significance of defeating Kansas City’s unbeaten streak. The 28-year-old, whose crucial 26-yard rushing touchdown on fourth down helped secure the victory, focused on the bigger picture.
“Means we have nine wins,” Allen told reporters postgame. “Last time I checked, nine wins probably doesn’t get you in the playoffs. Going into this bye week, get to enjoy ourselves a little bit, but coming back ready, a hungry team, and just trying to go 1-0.”
Despite his humility, Allen’s four wins against Mahomes are the most by any quarterback in the league. However, he has yet to defeat Mahomes in the playoffs.
The Bills enter their bye week with a 9-2 record, their best start since 1992.
