Ex-Chiefs WR Arrested for DUI Hours After Scoring TD on SNF

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs, was arrested early Monday morning by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to a news release obtained by NFL Media. The arrest was initially reported by TMZ.

The release stated, “At approximately 5:13 a.m., officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) — West Valley Area Office observed a white Dodge sedan traveling over 100 miles per hour on US-101 northbound, south of Tampa Avenue.”

After stopping the vehicle, officers identified Robinson, who disclosed that he plays for the Rams.

“Officers observed signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment, and Robinson was arrested,” the release noted. He was cited and later released to a “responsible party.”

Robinson, 30, has appeared in 11 games this season, recording 26 catches on 50 targets for 384 yards and six touchdowns, according to Pro Football Reference. He has already surpassed his career-high in touchdowns with six games left in the regular season and is on pace to set a new personal best in receiving yards.

Drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round in 2016, Robinson played six seasons in Kansas City before spending a year with the Baltimore Ravens. He joined the Rams in 2023.

Just hours before his arrest, Robinson caught two passes for 15 yards, including a touchdown, in the Rams’ 37-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.

Chiefs Edge Panthers, Improve to 10-1

The Kansas City Chiefs, two-time defending Super Bowl champions, advanced to 10-1 with a 30-27 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 12.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 27 of 37 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns, adding 60 rushing yards on five carries.

Tight end Noah Gray led the Chiefs in receiving with four catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Kareem Hunt carried the ball 16 times for 68 yards.

However, Kansas City’s defense struggled, allowing 334 total yards, 19 first downs, and recording just two sacks against Panthers quarterback Bryce Young.

Late in the game, Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard scored a touchdown and converted a two-point attempt to tie the game at 27 with 1:46 remaining.

Mahomes responded with a seven-play, 57-yard drive, highlighted by a 33-yard scramble to the Carolina 21-yard line with 39 seconds left. Kicker Spencer Shrader sealed the win with a 31-yard field goal as time expired.

Fans React to Chiefs’ Week 12 Victory

Fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, shared their thoughts on the Chiefs’ narrow win.

“Hey, no matter how we won, let’s not forget that every opponent will do everything they can to beat the defending Super Bowl champion,” one fan wrote. “We’ve got 10 wins and plenty of time to get healthy and ready for the playoffs!”

“Yes, it’s a win. But again, we beg and plead… y’all got work to do,” another fan commented. “The OL is a serious issue and needs to get fixed now. The secondary is a mess, penalties are killing us. This game should have been a blowout.”
