NFL’s Most Dynamic Duos Reunion: Davante Adams Says Hamstring Injury Feels ‘Great’ After Trade to Jets and…

After being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets on Tuesday, star receiver Davante Adams gave an encouraging update on his hamstring injury.

Appearing unexpectedly on The Pat McAfee Show alongside veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Adams shared that his recovery is progressing well after missing the last three weeks.

“Thanks for asking about the injury. I’m feeling great,” Adams said. “I worked with the Vegas staff throughout and they got me back to full strength, so I’ll be ready to go.”

Before his injury, Adams recorded 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown on 27 targets. The 31-year-old was unexpectedly made available for trade by the Raiders while sidelined, with the Jets emerging as frontrunners to acquire him due to his strong connection with Rodgers.

Adams and Rodgers previously formed one of the NFL’s most dynamic duos while with the Green Bay Packers. Adams requested a trade from the Packers after the 2021 season, seeking a more lucrative contract, which he secured with the Raiders.

Despite their time apart, Adams expressed confidence that he and Rodgers can recapture their previous success.

“There might be a few new details, but most of it is the same. Still the same OG here,” he said, referring to Rodgers. “The plan is to pick up where we left off.”

Adams’ addition is expected to ease the pressure on rising star receiver Garrett Wilson, who leads the Jets with 67 targets this season. For comparison, Allen Lazard is second with 40 targets.

The Jets are currently on a three-game losing streak heading into their Sunday Night Football matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the team is hopeful that Adams can help turn things around.
