49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is enduring a tough stretch in the second half of this season, failing to record more than 22 receiving yards in any of his last four games.
With San Francisco playing a pivotal game for playoff positioning against the Rams, Samuel’s performance was under scrutiny on “Thursday Night Football.” Unfortunately, his struggles persisted.
Earlier in the week, Samuel took to social media, expressing that he just needed more opportunities.
However, the game against Los Angeles did not bring a turnaround. Samuel’s night was marred by a critical drop in the second half, prompting boos from the home crowd frustrated with his inability to deliver.
Deebo Samuel Drop
Samuel had two drops on Thursday night, one of which came at a crucial moment in the second half. With the game tied at 3-3 and the 49ers facing a 3rd-and-10 in Rams territory, Samuel dropped a pass that would have easily secured a first down and significant yardage.
As a result, San Francisco had to settle for a field goal, which turned out to be their last points of the game.
Adding to his struggles, Samuel collided with his teammate earlier in the game when running back Isaac Guerendo inadvertently ran into him on a carry.
Ultimately, Samuel failed to shake off his slump.
