Dale Earnhardt Jr. Hints Bristol Could Mark His Final NASCAR Xfinity Race

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s influence in NASCAR is undeniable, both as a driver and as a personality who continues to shape the sport. After retiring from full-time competition in 2017, he has still kept a connection with fans through his annual Xfinity Series appearances.

However, his upcoming race at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 20 might mark the end of this tradition. On his popular podcast, The Dale Jr. Download, Earnhardt hinted that the Bristol race would “probably” be his last Xfinity Series start.

While he’s left room for a bit of uncertainty, Earnhardt also emphasized that he’s “pretty sure” it’s time to step back from the Xfinity car. That said, he isn’t completely hanging up his helmet just yet, as he plans to continue racing in late models for a “little while longer.”

Earnhardt’s potential departure from the Xfinity Series leaves many fans with mixed emotions. His presence on the track, even in limited starts, has brought nostalgia and excitement.

Nevertheless, as Earnhardt moves toward new ventures, his impact on NASCAR is far from over. JR Motorsports, the team he co-owns, will continue to compete in the Xfinity Series, keeping his legacy alive on the racetrack through talented drivers.

Moreover, Earnhardt will remain a prominent figure in the broadcast booth. Beginning in 2025, he will serve as a commentator for TNT and Prime, adding valuable insight and personality to NASCAR’s television coverage.

While his driving career may be nearing its end, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s connection to NASCAR will persist. A NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, his contributions to the sport go beyond his time behind the wheel. His voice, leadership, and dedication ensure that even after his final race, Earnhardt will remain an integral part of the NASCAR community, inspiring fans and drivers alike.
