Harrison Burton will drive full-time for AM Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025, the team has announced. Burton, currently facing elimination in the Cup Series playoffs, remains within the Ford camp with this new opportunity.
This move comes after Wood Brothers Racing confirmed that Burton would not return to their team next season, with Josh Berry set to replace him. After two seasons with the Wood Brothers, Burton now looks forward to a fresh start with AM Racing.
“I’m excited to join AM Racing and help build it into the race-winning team I believe it can and will be,” Burton said in a team statement. “This is a great opportunity for me to apply the lessons I’ve learned in the Cup Series and bring them to the Xfinity Series to be the best driver I can be.”
AM Racing has also extended its partnership with Roush Yates Engines, who will continue to supply engines for the team. In addition, the team has formed a technical alliance with the Haas Factory Team, enhancing its competitive capabilities for the upcoming season.
AM Racing’s No. 15 car had a rocky start in 2024, beginning with Hailie Deegan, who departed after disappointing results. Since then, the team has rotated various drivers in the car, searching for the right fit.
Additional details of Burton’s Xfinity Series program with AM Racing are expected to be released soon, as the team continues to solidify its lineup for 2025.
With this shift, Burton aims to use his Cup Series experience to elevate his performance in the Xfinity Series and help AM Racing achieve its full potential.
