The FOX NASCAR Truck Series broadcast looks a little different tonight. Ross Chastain is racing, and Carson Hocevar is pit reporting. Off the track, these two are close friends, but Chastain couldn’t resist making fun of his younger Cup Series rival. Carson Hocevar and Ross Chastain were both Niece Motorsports Truck Series racers. They still do sometimes. Niece may have played a role in bringing these two gifted individuals to the NASCAR community. The 32-year-old Chastain was being interviewed by the 22-year-old Hocevar when the Trackhouse Racing driver couldn’t resist making a joke. It was also an excellent one. “I think I’m the most relieved that you’re holding a microphone rather than a steering wheel” Chastain remarked, before Hocevar signed off to the booth, via Steven Taranto of CBS Sports.
Carson Hocevar’s reputation for aggressive driving was the subject of a joke made by Ross Chastain. Chastain then blasted it four wide coming into Turn 1, sending rookie Gio Ruggiero reeling. There was also Ben Rhodes. Ross Chastain made a fantastic joke. In any case, I believe it was. He serves as Hocevar’s tutor in a way, and he ought to be able to joke around with his friend. However, given how frequently Chastain engages in such behavior, I don’t want to hear about Hocevar’s aggressive driving. Furthermore, he is not alone. There are some drivers who can act aggressively. They go too far. For a variety of reasons, it is frequently ignored or disregarded. Perhaps Ross Chastain ought to have been the mic in his hand tonight and Carson Hocevar should have had the steering wheel. What do you think?
At Hoemstead, Ross Chastain is competing in the Truck Series
You should watch tonight’s Craftsman Truck Series race if you haven’t already. Compared to the action we have witnessed from this series thus far this season, this race is more intense. Amazing early racing across the field. Kyle Larson seems to have the best line and the best truck early on. Figure it out. But we have witnessed Layne Riggs and Corey Heim spar with the Cup Series champion. Ross Chastain was initially involved but has since faded. It’s possible that he consumed his tires too soon. Ty Majeski continues to place among the top five. Then things start to fall apart.
