After Brandon Jones took away his supremacy in Darlington, Justin Allgaier expresses his feelings in a clear and explicit manner

Justin Allgaier, the reigning Xfinity Series winner, recently appeared on YouTube in a post-race interview with FrontStretch media. The latter mentioned in the interview that he narrowly lost to Brandon Jones of Joe Gibbs Racing at the Darlington Raceway. On Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the 1.366-mile racetrack, Brandon Jones ended his 98-race winless streak at the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help a Hero 200. Jones took the lead on a restart with 12 laps remaining, leaving everyone else in his wake. Justin Allgaier won stage two of the race and led the most laps (56), although he was still two spots shy of the victory.

In the post-race interview, Allgaier revealed his genuine feelings after considering Jones’ outstanding effort in the Darlington race: “I mean, I pay attention and I’m happy for the child. We’ve been working out together for the past few years, you know. I am aware of how hard he and his teammates have worked, and we are friends outside of the racetrack. Since he truly puts in a lot of work as a colleague, I was glad to see him win, but I also hated to see him go. I would love to be in victory lane in one of our Chevrolets.

It has been Brandon’s case, but sometimes you see somebody, um, persevere through, you know, an uphill battle. I’m proud of him for his accomplishments and his ability to overcome obstacles,” he continued. After Chase Elliott of Hendrick Motorsports, Justin Allgaier came in third place. Allgaier declared himself “disappointed” and promised to review the race in order to identify areas for improvement.

Justin Allgaier, the standout driver for Dale Jr.’s team, had conflicting feelings after defeating Kyle Larson at the Homestead-Miami Speedway

During the 2025 Xfinity Series season, Justin Allgaier of JR Motorsports won consecutive races. Following his victory in the Hard Rock Bet 300 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 22, 2025, Allgaier revealed how he exploited Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports during the race. “I was actually bummed to see the caution come out, and it worked in our favor,” Allgaier said in an interview with NASCAR following the race. We’re in the right spot at the right moment, but I’m disappointed that I might have gotten the triple from Kyle (Larson), as I believe he’ll have a fantastic chance tomorrow. I’m actually proud of this race team.” [01:12 onwards]

But the following day, March 23, 2025, Larson carried his momentum to the Cup Series Straight Talk Wireless 400 race at Homestead-Miami. The #5 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver earned 56 points and a playoff berth after winning the race by a margin of 1.205 seconds.
