Keselowski finished the Goodyear 400 in P33 after spinning out through Turn 4 after a lug nut fell away from his rear tire, despite qualifying 20th for Sunday’s race at Darlington. “I feel like we’re doing all the right things and get to where we need to be, we just haven’t gotten the results,” Keselowski said after the race, reflecting on his poor luck. We would have preferred to have qualified better, but we haven’t. It’s been disappointing because we haven’t been able to come together in the race for a variety of reasons, some of which are within our control and many of which are not. However, we feel as though we’re moving past the poor luck early in the season. “That’s kind of the overwhelming sentiment and if we stay the course, it will come back to us.”
Should we be concerned about Keselowski’s Darlington result? The 2012 champion hasn’t led a lap in 2025, and his best finish of the year came at the Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas, where he finished P11. Since Keselowski typically performs well at the track, Darlington was initially a reason for confidence. However, the raceway was not intended to host his first top ten result of the season. He has won multiple races at the Bristol Motor Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway, where he will be hopeful that his past performance will lead to a strong showing at the next two races. Keselowski is presently ranked 31st in the NASCAR rankings, but it is obvious that he thinks performance will improve to the RFK Racing team as the season progresses.
