Top-247 Prospect and Baylor Commit London Smith Sets June 13 Official Visit to Kentucky Amid Family Ties and Receiver Room Overhaul
Waco (Texas) University wide receiver London Smith, a 6-foot, 175-pound standout, has scheduled an official visit to the University of Kentucky for June 13. A Baylor legacy, Smith has been verbally committed to the Bears since January.
In addition to his visit to Lexington, Smith is also set to take an official visit to Baylor — the program to which he is currently pledged — on June 20. His ties to the university run deep: his father, Rodney Smith, was a three-year starter at safety for the Bears and also played guard for the basketball team. His mother, Stacey Smith, was the 1999 NCAA triple jump champion for Baylor and later represented Team USA in the Olympics.
Kentucky wide receivers coach L’Damian Washington will lead the recruiting effort for Smith, serving as the primary point of contact as the Wildcats aim to flip the talented wideout.
Smith is ranked as the nation’s No. 32 wide receiver and the No. 204 overall prospect in the 2025 class according to 247Sports, which rates him a 90 on its 100-point scale. In addition to football, the Texas native also competes on the basketball court.
Following a significant reshuffling of the wide receiver corps this offseason, Kentucky could face another round of turnover in 2025. Three players — Ja’Mori Maclin, J.J. Hester, and Fred Farrier II — are entering their final year of eligibility, while Kendrick Law could also depart after the upcoming season.
Kentucky hosted 80 percent of its official visits in June last year, including trips from 16 eventual commitments. So far, the Wildcats’ 2026 class includes just one pledge: offensive tackle Jarvis Strickland from Paducah (Ky.) Tilghman.
