Okolie and Edmondson Added to Blockbuster Usyk-Dubois Undercard at Wembley

British boxers Lawrence Okolie and Lewis Edmondson have officially joined the undercard for one of the year’s most anticipated boxing events — the heavyweight title rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois, scheduled for 19 July at Wembley Stadium.

Former cruiserweight world champion Lawrence Okolie, 32, continues his campaign in the heavyweight division, taking on experienced South African Kevin Lerena in a 12-round contest. Okolie moved up to heavyweight in December and currently holds a 21-1 record, while Lerena brings a solid 31-3 professional résumé. With the heavyweight landscape brimming with top-tier talent, Okolie will need an emphatic win to establish himself as a credible title contender in his new weight class.

Joining him on the undercard is Lewis Edmondson, the reigning Commonwealth and British light-heavyweight champion. The 29-year-old will also step into a 12-round showdown against Daniel Lapin, a Ukrainian prospect who often trains alongside Usyk. Both fighters remain undefeated in 11 fights, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash in the 175-pound division.

These are the first two undercard bouts confirmed for Usyk vs. Dubois II, a fight with historic implications. Dubois aims to become the first British heavyweight to unify all four major world titles in the four-belt era, while Usyk looks to cement his legacy by becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion for a second time.

With the addition of Okolie and Edmondson, the Wembley card is already shaping up to be a night of elite matchups and title implications across multiple divisions.
