Tyler Reddick has secured the 2024 regular season championship title.

Tyler Reddick has made history by clinching the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Regular Season Championship, edging out Kyle Larson by a mere point ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ ⁶. This thrilling victory came after Reddick’s 10th-place finish in the Southern 500 regular-season finale at Darlington Raceway.

Reddick’s incredible performance was all the more impressive given that he was battling a stomach bug throughout the race ⁵. Despite his health issues, Reddick managed to secure seven valuable stage points in Stage One, which ultimately proved to be the deciding factor in his championship win.

Reddick’s Road to Victory

  • Reddick finished the 26-race regular season with 860 points, just one point ahead of Larson’s 859 ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁶
  • He earned 15 playoff points as the regular season champion, while Larson received 10 ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁶
  • Reddick’s No. 45 Toyota team will start the playoffs with 23 owner points, behind Larson’s No. 5 Chevrolet team, which has 45 ⁴

A Record-Breaking Season

Reddick’s win marks his first regular season championship since NASCAR began recognizing the leading points scorer in 2017 ¹ ². He joins an elite group of drivers, including Martin Truex Jr., who won the inaugural championship in 2017.
