Chase Elliott has given his verdict on who was responsible for the horrific crash that left Tyler Reddick face down on the turf. NASCAR’s playoff battle heated up as two championship contenders went down in Las Vegas. On lap 89 of the South Point 400, Reddick came up the track and passed Elliott and the attacking Martin Truex Jr. As Reddick approached, car no. Elliott’s No. 9 appeared to be caught between the two and hit the No. 45 23XI Racing, while Reddick’s car hit the no. Brad Keselowski’s 6 and it went sideways. Grass in the field before rolling after crossing the asphalt section. Reddick’s car landed on all four wheels and rolled back into the pit wall. But he had to stop after his team inspected the damaged area.

Recalling the incident after the race, Elliott told FOX Sports’ Bob Pokrass that Truex Jr. doesn’t think so. He is guilty of questioning Reddick’s aggressive tactics from the outside. “Yes, I’m talking about the big game no. 45 and I don’t think Martin knew that,” Elliott said. “He jumped a bit like we were next to him and when he realized there was no more space he tried to jump but there was nowhere to run. It was too late.” I don’t know. I have to sit down.

“I tried to get out of the personal situation, but by then it was too late, but I really liked Chevrolet. Probably the best thing we did here was get a new car. “It’s a bad day for him.”When asked if he thought Reddick was too aggressive in his pass attempts, Elliott said, “There wasn’t a lot of space there. Of course I understand. But at that moment in the turn and race there was not much space. “It was a big gamble for him (Reddick) to think that I would recognize him and that Martin would recognize that he was going to get great results. I saw it, but maybe Martin didn’t see it this late. He was definitely aggressive. “We’re trying to fight for the championship”

When asked about his reaction to the accident, Truex Jr. admitted that he did not know what caused the incident. He said, “I don’t know. We were friendly and suddenly number 9 appeared. I don’t know what happened.” “I still felt like there was a lot of room in Room 9 and everyone was running out of gas. I don’t know what happened. That’s it.”

Reddick also made his comments, but did not elaborate on the foul play. “No. 19 (Truex Jr.) and no. 9 (Elliot). The 19th got up with the 9th and we all left the room. That was it. “This happens all the time a mile and a half away.”After Joey Logano’s win moved him to the top of the standings, Elliott gained four points during the race and fell to last place among the eight remaining playoff drivers. Elliot now admits he has to win to stay above the line. “We’ve got to win, but honestly, nothing’s going to change for me because that was my mindset today,” he said.
