Porsche has revealed the new driver roster for the Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 car for the 2025 FIA WEC and IMSA campaigns. Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell will pilot the No. 6 963 driven by Penske in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTP class, with the No. 7 car shared by reigning champions Felipe Nasr and Nick Tandy. Laurens Vantoor and Kevin Estre will support the season drivers in selected Endurance Cup races. In the WEC, Julian Andrlauer has been promoted to the Hypercar Factory team for 2024 after his outstanding performance in the Proton Competition. He shares fifth place with Michael Christensen. Number 6 will now be split between Vantoor and Estre. Both cars will run with two drivers throughout the season, with Jaminet and Campbell La Sarthe joining the team for 2023 and 2024.

The changes also include three key departures in 11 years – 2024 Drivers’ Champion Dane Cameron, FIA WEC Hypercar Drivers’ Championship leader Andre Lotterer and Le Mans GTE Pro and Nürburgring 24 Hours winner Frederik Makowiecki. Factory Drivers – All scheduled for release later this year. “I would like to thank Dane Cameron, Andre Lotterer and Frederik Makowiecki for their excellent work over the years. All three played a key role in achieving great success with the Porsche 963 on both sides of the Atlantic in its second year of competition,” said Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President Porsche Motorsport. “We will participate with a changed line in 2025. Our team continues to rank among the highest levels of international endurance racing. “Furthermore, we are committed to building on our highly successful plans by supporting another former Porsche junior to reach the pinnacle of his career.

In recent seasons, Julien Andlauer has surprised us behind the wheel of a Porsche Weissach racing car. “He deserves a promotion to the factory driver team.””With the new lineup, we believe we have finalized a winning combination for 2025,” said Urs Kuratle, director of Porsche LMDh Factory Motorsport. We have two experienced drivers from both series and two drivers from the sister cars. They have all come through the ranks of the Porsche Junior Program and have given us full confidence as talented young people. “I would like to thank Dane Cameron, André Lotterer and Frederik Makowiecki. All three have helped bring the Porsche Penske Motorsport campaign to its current level – the pinnacle – of global endurance racing.

Jonathan Diuguid, Managing Director of Porsche Penske Motorsport, noted that the 2025 WEC and IMSA calendar gives Porsche the opportunity to have more frequent driver pairings. “For 2024, we’ve made some team-specific adjustments based on consistency and continuity,” he said. “This decision proved to be the right one, based on these achievements, we will follow this approach until 2025. “The door has been opened for (drivers) to participate in both series,” he said.
