Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch comes from a racing family. Following in the footsteps of his father Tom, Kyle wants to be the driving force behind his nine-year-old son’s racing career. Kyle ranks ninth on the all-time Cup Series wins list with 63 wins and is first with all three NASCAR National Series wins at 231. His brother Kurt is also a Cup Series champion. But the Busch dynasty isn’t the only NASCAR family dynasty Kyle wants to be a part of.
President Bush has teamed up with Straight Talk to promote his family dynasty plans.
This weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet has partnered with Straight Talk Wireless as the title sponsor for the 267-lap, Round 8 race on Sunday afternoon at the 15,000-mile (2,414 km) South Florida Oval to promote the Family Dynasty plan sweepstakes. Fans can get 100 years of unlimited talk, text and data from Straight Talk Wireless by texting “DYNASTY” to 855-727-RACE (7223). The winner will be announced after the Straight Talk Wireless 400 on Sunday.
Busch talked about his partnership with Beyond the Flag before the race weekend. “It was actually done through NASCAR,” Busch said of how the deal came to be. “When it comes to sports, they’re looking for hosts to partner with Straight Talk Wireless and Family Diamond. “We are building a family dynasty with the Bush family. My father was an athlete, I was a competitor, and now my son is competing. That’s why it was so important for us to partner with Straight Talk Wireless to launch the Family Dynasty Plan sweepstakes.”At a time when constant communication is vital to many, President Bush is proud to be the face of that cooperation this weekend.
“It’s great because I’ve been traveling across the country every weekend for the last 20 years and I’ve really enjoyed it,” he said. “We’ve achieved a lot, but I want to keep in touch over the nine years since my son was born and the last two years since my daughter was born. We want FaceTime times and the opportunity for them to travel with me so we can talk even when I’m not with them. “So we’re looking to build the next great family dynasty in NASCAR by launching a wireless plan that supports decades of service for a new dynasty that needs it. Of course, I was a former Verizon customer and a Verizon family customer for 20 years.
“I was in Las Vegas last weekend while I was at the races and my son was in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While my son is racing, I try to stay in touch with him. “My wife and I have been connected through Verizon for many years and it’s great to be able to continue that.”Busch is hoping to win the Straight Talk Wireless 400, not only to further promote his brand on the big draw weekend, but also to extend his winning streak through June 20.

He scored Richard Childress’ first race win at Auto Club Speedway last year, breaking Richard Petty’s record of 18 consecutive wins. Bush missed the playoffs this year for the first time since 2012, but it’s not the first time he’s faced the possibility of stopping his winning streak. In 2020, he stopped at 15 before winning 34 of 36 races in another 1.5-mile oval race at Texas Speedway.
He believes he can win twice, having won at Homestead-Miami in 2015 and 2019. “I love the racetrack there,” Busch said. “It’s a truly unique racetrack. You can have multiple racing lanes and work on the entire circuit. Right around the wall seems to be the preferred racing line, so I’m playing with a little risk. You risk damaging your car by hitting the wall a bit, but sometimes the closer you get to the wall, the faster you can go. “It is a very beautiful place and it is. I won two races there and took two championships in those races. I remember doing late night photo shoots and interviews at the championship party. It was really great. So I want to get back to winning ways.”
Bush’s winning streak has ended after 19 seasons, but he admits he still has fond memories of those days.
This isn’t the first record Petty has broken.
“I have the most wins in the Xfinity Series with 102,” Busch said. “I think the next closest person is less than half. So I have the opportunity to break Richard Petty’s record that has stood since 1984, the year before I was born, and no one could break it until I could.”Busch broke Petty’s record of 200 NASCAR National Series wins with his 201st career win in 2019 and went on to win 30 more. He has 63 Cup Series wins, 102 Xfinity Series wins and 66 Truck Series.
As for his 19-year streak, which broke Petty’s record in 1977, Busch isn’t sure it will last. That’s one reason he wants to be in his mid-20s rather than 20 years before he retires. “Maybe it will stay,” he said. “It might take the rest of my life, but who knows? We will see. I think the sport changes and changes in a lot of ways, so I can tolerate it when I’m 19, but if I’m going to keep competing for 24, 25, 26 years, I want to take it all in. That record.”He has previously won at Homestead-Miami, Martinsville Speedway and Phoenix Raceway – the three remaining tracks on this year’s schedule – and sees this weekend as his best chance to continue that winning streak.
“I went to the Straight Talk Wireless 400 in Homestead this weekend,” Bush admitted. “I’ve won a few times here and I think it’s a great place for me. “I ran a mile and a half really well in Kansas a few weeks ago, so it has similar characteristics to that track again.”

He hopes it’s not because of the 35th or 36th race.
“I think Martinsville has a short track vibe. And of course we go to Phoenix. I won there too, but if I try to win this race, it will be hard to win a fourth time. But maybe we can play in the Spartakiad”.
Busch is disappointed to miss the season after finishing second in must-win races at Daytona International Speedway and Darlington this year, but he can handle the pressure of elimination, playoff points and a win cut. At this time of year, you have the championship. “Yeah, double right?” he thought. “There’s less pressure because we didn’t make the playoffs. You don’t have those things.”But according to Bush, he always prioritized the successes of victory. If he wins his 20th season, it would be the first time he has won a game and missed the playoffs.
“The pressure of trying to win a 20th straight title this year still puts a lot of pressure on ourselves and we still feel like we’re in the playoffs because we have to win to get there.
