For NASCAR’s electric racing future, Chevrolet unveiled the Blazer EV.R, a 1300 horsepower electric prototype. This weekend’s Daytona 500 is anticipated to be its live debut.

Blazer EV.R’s technical specifications

Built on the NASCAR Next-Gen chassis, the Blazer EV.R uses three six-phase electric motors with torque vectoring and all-wheel drive that can reach 15,000 RPM in place of the conventional V8. The automobile has a huge rear wing, a wide front bumper, and improved aerodynamics. The battery is a 78-kWh liquid-cooled unit. At the moment, Chevrolet does not view it as a production model, but more as a test platform for improvements.

The Blazer EV SS will be the pace car for the Daytona 500

The 615-hp Blazer EV SS, the quickest SS vehicle in Chevrolet history, will also be on display. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds. In the meantime, Ford has unveiled the Mustang Mach-E, a 1300 horsepower vehicle that will help them in their 2027 Le Mans campaign.
