NASCAR at COTA on a Budget: Your Guide to an Affordable Race Weekend

The NASCAR season is already underway, and this week, some of the nation’s top racing car drivers will visit Central Texas. This Friday, February 28, through Sunday, March 2, the Circuit of the Americas will host the fifth annual EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix NASCAR weekend. The Xfinity Series, NASCAR Cup Series, and IMSA sports car racing are all included during the event. However, obtaining family tickets can be costly, just like in other sport. For those NASCAR fans who would like to attend this weekend’s race in Austin, COTA is providing a few inexpensive and free options. Based on the track’s value webpage, here are five inexpensive things for fans to do this NASCAR weekend at COTA that will give them more value for their money.

Fan zone (Free)

Games, prizes, merchandising, driver appearances, and a variety of family-friendly entertainment options are all part of this free fan zone experience, which is open all weekend. Along with the High-Flying Pages aerial company, the death-defying Globe of Death motorbike display, and America’s Got Talent contestants Boogie Storm (dancing Stormtroopers) and Funkanometry, there will be Swifty Swine Pig Races. From noon to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, fans can also visit for a meet-and-greet with NASCAR icons Kyle Petty and Michael Waltrip. The fan zone is open from 2 p.m. on Friday until 1:50 p.m. on Sunday. Visit the NASCAR at COTA website to view the complete schedule of fan zone events.

Payment plans

Single-day general admission tickets for Sunday’s main grandstand races start at about $84 on Ticketmaster as of Wednesday, February 26. However, COTA offers a variety of payment options and interest-free payment plans online and in-person. A COTA spokesperson told MySA you can either purchase tickets through Ticketmaster and select the payment plan option upon checkout, or you can buy tickets over-the-phone at 833-450-2864 and in-person at the box office.
