NASCAR Doubles Down on Star Power With Another Surprise After ‘God’s Voice’ Reveal

Kyle Busch’s Unexpected WWE Victory and NASCAR’s Star-Studded Vegas Race

Kyle Busch is no stranger to winning championships, having secured two NASCAR Cup Series titles. However, in 2019, he shocked fans by stepping into a completely different arena—WWE. In an unexpected crossover moment, Busch claimed the WWE 24/7 Championship after defeating a WWE superstar in the ring.

The surprising event unfolded on an episode of Monday Night Raw. Busch, accompanied by racing icon Michael Waltrip, entered the arena to congratulate R-Truth, the reigning 24/7 Champion. This title had a unique stipulation—it could be contested anytime, anywhere, as long as a referee was present. Seizing the opportunity, Waltrip revealed a referee’s jersey hidden beneath his jacket, setting up Busch for a surprise roll-up pin on R-Truth. Stunned but victorious, Busch held up the championship belt, marking one of the most memorable NASCAR-WWE crossovers.

Over the years, WWE stars have frequently appeared at NASCAR events, and in 2025, that tradition continues. As the sport heads to Las Vegas for the Pennzoil 400, another WWE champion is set to take the spotlight—this time, behind the wheel.

Chelsea Green to Lead the Field as NASCAR Embraces WWE Energy

WWE and NASCAR fans alike have something to look forward to at the upcoming Pennzoil 400. Chelsea Green, the reigning WWE Women’s United States Champion, has been named the honorary pace car driver for the Las Vegas Motor Speedway event. Known for her dynamic in-ring presence and her signature “Hot Mess” persona, Green will take control of the Toyota Supra pace car, leading the field before the green flag drops.

Expressing her excitement, Green shared, “I am speechless and beyond pumped to attend my first NASCAR race, and to have such a major role in it is something I never expected! From the roar of the engines to the energy of the crowd, this is a whole new level of excitement, and I can’t wait to be part of this incredible experience!”

Green joins an impressive list of WWE superstars who have participated in NASCAR events over the years. Legends such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Charlotte Flair, Sheamus, Matt Hardy, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin have all played roles as honorary officials, pace car drivers, or grand marshals at various races. Her involvement further strengthens the long-standing connection between WWE and NASCAR.

However, Green isn’t the only major celebrity making an appearance at the Pennzoil 400—Hollywood legend Morgan Freeman will also be part of the festivities.

Morgan Freeman to Serve as Grand Marshal for the Pennzoil 400

Adding to the event’s star power, Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman will serve as the grand marshal for the race. Known for his legendary voice and narration in countless films and documentaries, Freeman will have the honor of delivering the iconic command: “Drivers, start your engines!”

Freeman expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I’m thrilled to be chosen as the grand marshal for this NASCAR race. It’s a true honor to be part of such an incredible tradition, and I can’t wait to see the energy, passion, and excitement that fills the track.”

Freeman is no stranger to the NASCAR world—he recently narrated Fox’s Daytona 500 commercial and has lent his voice to various NASCAR-related documentaries throughout his career. His presence, alongside Green’s participation, is elevating the excitement surrounding the Las Vegas race weekend.

Will the Weather Cooperate for the Pennzoil 400?

With NASCAR gearing up for an action-packed weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, one lingering question remains—will the weather allow for a smooth race?

Fortunately, early forecasts indicate favorable conditions. The Truck Series race on Friday is expected to have clear skies with temperatures in the mid-50s and minimal wind. Saturday’s Xfinity Series event looks even better, with sunshine and highs reaching 65°F. On Sunday, race day temperatures should hover around 71°F, with only a 5% chance of rain.

However, gusty winds could pose a challenge for drivers. Forecasts predict winds between 16-20 mph, with gusts reaching up to 28 mph. While rain isn’t a concern, these conditions may impact handling on the track. The last time Las Vegas experienced extreme weather during a race was in 2016, when a sandstorm disrupted the Kobalt 400.

Despite the potential wind, the stage is set for an exciting showdown at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With Hollywood and WWE stars adding to the spectacle, NASCAR fans can expect an unforgettable weekend of high-speed action and entertainment.
