Dallas Cowboys running back Mazie Smith is breathing a sigh of relief after a peanut allergy scare sent the star to the hospital on Friday. According to Clarence Hill. Smith, of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram , is scheduled to practice Monday after suffering an allergic reaction on the team bus. After spending time in the hospital on Friday, Smith said he was “feeling a lot better.”Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy added his thoughts on Hill’s situation:
“Honestly, everybody was on the bus, and when he got off the bus, I walked past him and took a seat,” McCarthy said after the game. “But it’s always important when you have an allergic reaction like this.”
This is definitely good news. Peanut allergy can cause serious health problems. Fortunately, Smith was able to get the grit he needed to focus on what he does best: putting pressure on opposing offenses.
As a rookie, Smith played in all 17 regular-season games last season, starting three and appearing in the team’s only playoff game. The former Michigan star totaled 13 tackles and one sack in his first NFL season. He is expected to play a big role for the Cowboys in 2024.
