You don’t need a car to win a NASCAR race. Kevin Weber of Bradenton won the curve in the qualifying round on Saturday, September 1st. Twelve Powerball players announced at the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on February 21, 2024 will advance to the next qualifying round of the Bank of America Roval 400 and become one of 12 remaining in the NASCAR Powerball playoffs. As drivers compete to win the NASCAR Cup Series title, players will go through several rounds on their way to the championship. The top four finishers will receive a VIP trip to NASCAR’s championship weekend at Phoenix Raceway and the opportunity to win a $1 million grand prize. Weber was one of 50 Florida Powerball players randomly selected by the Florida Lottery and sent to a national pool. The four players ejected on Saturday each received $2,500. If Weber advances to the next round, he will receive $5,000. If he advances, he will advance to qualifying for the Bank of America Roval 400 on Oct. 13 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Twenty-four states (including Florida) had national contests and second drawings during the 2024 NASCAR season. Florida used the Powerball second chance bonus game to select 50 players. The 16 semifinalists were selected from a national list and announced Sept. 1 at the Cook Out Southern 500 in Darlington, South Carolina. They will now compete head-to-head in a series of qualifying rounds that coincide with NASCAR playoff qualifying rounds.
The four semifinalists remaining in the playoffs after the fourth drawing (“Championship 4”) will receive $1 million VIP tickets to the final drawing at NASCAR’s Championship Weekend at Phoenix Speedway, Arizona. All 16 semi-finalists will receive cash prizes upon exit.
