Elon Musk’s NASCAR hero may end support for Hurricane Helen – ‘My blood boils’

Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle was nominated for the Presidential Medal of Freedom on social media for his heroic actions after Hurricane Helen, but Elon Musk explains that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) can no longer transport critical supplies.

“SpaceX engineers are currently trying to deliver Starlink terminals and supplies to the devastated areas of North Carolina and @FEMA cannot help and will not allow others to help.“They took this video a few hours ago and you can see the extent of the destruction. Roads, houses, electricity, water supply and internet connections were completely destroyed. “@FEMA will not allow them to land to deliver critical supplies…my blood boils…”Musk later explained that his SpaceX team wasn’t the only one facing obstacles. He explained that anyone trying to help in the area was stopped. There’s no update from Biffle on the FEMA ban, but Musk’s message could mean the semi-retired NASCAR driver is giving up on helping those in need.

The surprising post reported that Beeple had six landing attempts before succeeding due to the difficult terrain. He wrote:”The mirror that caught our attention more than a mile away was the only way to find the man stuck on the mountain at the bottom of a steep canyon at GW after six failed attempts to land due to difficulties #hurricanehelene Before leaving , stock up on EpiPens, insulin, chick food, formula, gas, 2-bit oil, and a ready-to-eat sandwich from Harris Teeter.”

ESPN analyst Marty Smith nominated Biffle on X for the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his heroism. He said:“Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle should receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his sustained and unwavering heroic efforts with his helicopter and others to save lives in western North Carolina. Head over to @gbiffle to see his amazing efforts. “Thanks Greg.”
