Giants should regret taking Saquon Barkley, former NFL star says.

The New York Giants liked their decision to sit out this offseason. Saquon Barkley, now a Philadelphia Eagle, rushed for 176 yards against his former team last weekend. It was the second best performance of his entire career. The Giants seemed confident they wouldn’t overpay for the running back, but Victor Cruz said the Giants should “regret” the move.

“I think Sunday was a textbook example of a guy who can win a game by himself,” Cruz said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital. Barkley said he doesn’t see it as a revenge game after spending his first six seasons in the NFL before signing with a team that was once an NFC East rival. Cruz received his B.S.”Knowing Saquon, he wanted to play for the first time against the Giants and show what kind of player he is, what kind of athlete he is and what we’re missing,” Cruz said.

But there was one aspect of Barkley that Cruz said the Giants will miss the most. Coach Nick Sirianni approached Barkley on the bench late in the game and told him he was 14 yards away from setting a new personal best and that it was up to Barkley if he wanted to stay. Barkley refused, telling the coach to “make the guys eat.””He’s the type of guy that’s been in our locker room and the type of guy that’s led our franchise for many years. The Eagles are fortunate to have that guy on their roster, not just as a player, but because of who he is.” “It’s like somebody’s representing their team in that room.”Giants owner John Mara said he would have trouble sleeping if Barkley, the player his team drafted second overall out of Penn State in 2018, went to the Eagles.

Looking at what Barkley did in this game, you can see why he felt that way.
