Chelmsford Free Racing Tip: We are very pleased with the weather forecast which bodes well.

The Chelmsford evening card may only contain a small field going into the final race, but there is enough quality to show that the six starters will provide a competitive final.

The BF Brookhouse-trained Profitman, who won over this course and distance in April and came within a length and a half of repeating that performance on his last two outings last month, looks set to be ruled out as favourite. repeat Final winner Batal Dandy is expected to make a joint challenge but our favorite is Cogsworth, the only distance winner in the field, last seen at Kempton 10 days ago. The three-year-old son of Chris Dwyer ended up at the back of the field after barely gaining ground in the straight. He set a good pace and took a promising and unprecedented third place out of 11 riders.

He has a seemingly easy task in this Grade 6 handicap, making a proven player the leading player here. Cogsworth’s current score of 61 looks very comfortable and is close to the weight he won less than three weeks after winning at Brighton in May. Indeed, jockey Christian Howarth’s three-pound claim would take him straight to victory, which can only help his realistic claim in a race of this nature.
