Bubba Wallace, Austin Dillon and Ross Chastain were each fined $100,000 and given 50 points for violating NASCAR’s Member Conduct Policy at Sunday’s race at Martinsville.
NASCAR conducted an investigation beginning with the last lap and concluded that the three drivers violated Section 4.4.B&D: Conduct of the NASCAR Member Rules. This section covers practices detrimental to motor racing and racing operations.
The owners of each team, 23XI Racing (Wallace), Richard Childress Racing (Dillon) and Trackhouse Racing (Chasteen), were fined $100,000 and deducted 50 ownership points.
The team leader and each spotter, along with the team leader, will be absent from the 2024 season finale at Phoenix Raceway due to these violations.
All three racing teams said they would appeal.
“We looked at the most recent 41-car fines for very similar violations at Roval a few years ago,” said Elton Sawyer, NASCAR’s senior vice president of competition.
“We felt we wanted to take this to the next level and do it in a way that involved the leadership of the team. “We understand that it is the responsibility of all of us, team owners, team executives and NASCAR, to maintain the integrity of the sport.”
