The 2024 NASCAR Cup season came to an exciting conclusion last week as Joey Logano defeated Ryan Blaney to win his third championship.
Logano came out of the cannon on a late restart at Phoenix Raceway and passed several cars to take the lead and followed his Penske teammate as he crossed the finish line. The 34-year-old previously topped the rankings in 2018 and 2022.
“I love the playoffs. “I really like it.” Logano said. “What a great race. Team Penske struggled at the end. This is a very cool team. “There were some challenges throughout the race to keep fighting today.”
The question now is whether Logano can extend his legacy next year, joining Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon as the only drivers to win at least four championships.
