IT’S an historic day at Windsor Racecourse on Sunday as the track stages its first National Hunt fixture in almost 20 years.
And the opening event on the card – the Fitzdares Welcomes Jumping Back At Royal Windsor EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle – can go the way of MA SHANTOU (12.12, nap).
The five year old bay gelding trained by Emma Lavelle has already recorded two victories from four starts this season.
And the impressive manner that Harry Cobden won on him last time out at Warwick suggests another victory could be on the cards.
At Carlisle, GWENNIE MAY BOY (2.07, nb) has the class to land the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle.
The Dan Skelton-trained six-year-old completed a hat-trick with a useful performance to land a competitive staying handicap at the Aintree Grand National meeting in April.
Earning a further 11lb rise for that victory, he fell at the fourth flight on his comeback run at Haydock but can get back on the winning thread here.
