BILLYB is fancied to continue his trainer Craig Lidster’s rich vein of form with a win in the Find More Big Deals At BetUK Handicap (2.55) at Southwell today.
From eight runners during the past 10 days, Easingwold-based Lidster has saddled three winners and three seconds.`
And Billyb is ripe to add to his trainer’s tally if a second over this course and distance last Saturday is any guide.
Billyb, who had scored on his only previous visit to Rolleston, and jockey Shane Gray came home with gusto during the closing stages to be beaten a length and three-quarters by the Mick Apppleby-trained Royal Zabeel.
The winner is a lightly raced and progressive horse and, returning to action on the same British Horseracing Authority mark of 82 – the son of Raven’s Pass is due to go up 1lb in the future – Billyb gets the vote to go one better.
At Ffos Las, HAUT FOLIN , whose trainer Venetia Williams is also in a rich vein of form, has plenty going for him in the Adept GRP Cabinets Handicap Chase (2.07).
The seven-year-old came within half a length of a victorious return to the fray when second to Twilight Glory at Lingfield Park 10 days ago and has obvious claims of a second win in Britain from an unchanged rating.
