Karley Swindel: ‘I Cannot Wait to Marry You’
In an Instagram post on August 25, Karley Swindel shared, “Today I said yes to the man I prayed for. This is a day I will never forget. I cannot wait to marry you @landon_sandell.” The post included photos of the proposal, with one capturing the moment Sandell got down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage.
According to People Magazine, the proposal took place at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, on August 25. Swindel explained that she initially thought they were visiting the museum to help photographer Wisteria Jade build her portfolio. However, Sandell had secretly orchestrated the perfect proposal.
Though the moment was a surprise, Swindel admitted she had a feeling something special might happen.
“I wasn’t completely shocked,” she revealed in her exclusive interview with People. “Women have strong intuitions, so I prepared myself that morning, just in case. My fiancé usually gets anxious, but that day, he was calm, which made me think it might not happen.”
Following the proposal, Sandell had planned a surprise after-party for the couple, filled with family, friends, and fellow Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
“I’m so thankful for everyone who made this day so special,” Swindel told People. “From the photographer, to our families, my best friends from home, and my teammates… there was so much love and support surrounding us.”
In a separate interview on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ official website, Swindel, a Nederland, Texas native, spoke about her sources of inspiration.
“I’m inspired by people who persevere and do the right thing no matter the challenges they face. I admire those who stay positive, rise above, and work hard to become their best selves, whether life is throwing them curveballs or they’re at their peak.”
Swindel is also motivated by her vision for the future. “When I think about the family I’ll have one day, it pushes me to work hard for the life I envision for us. My dream is to be a wife, mother, and business owner, and I strive to create a happy, healthy life for my future family and myself.”
As for her favorite Dallas Cowboys players, Swindel named CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons, and Deuce Vaughn.
