Katherine Legge, a historic motorsports icon, has revealed her next career move: a children’s book will be out soon. Only the eighth female celebrity to compete in the Cup Series this year, the part-time Xfinity driver is anticipated to drive for Jordan Anderson in 2025. The 44-year-old British athlete, driving the No. 78 Chevrolet for Live Fast Motorsports, properly participated in the race at Phoenix Raceway. When she participated in the Daytona 500 in 2018, she became the first female racer to compete in the Cup since Danica Patrick. She received harsh messages and performed poorly during her appearances at Phoenix and Rockingham from social media trolls in the past, which she denounced as “vile”.

Legge has now transferred her skills to writing in the form of a children’s book called “Kat’s Magic Helmet” amid her many accomplishments behind the wheel. Ahead of the book’s publication, which focuses on the early exploits of her racing career, she gave an explanation of why she felt driven to tell her story in this way. She stated: “I know firsthand how it feels to be an outsider, having often been the only girl competing against boys.” Any child who has ever felt uncertain or excluded should read this book. I want children to understand that they are not alone and that they are completely accepted. Later, she revealed she will be talking more about it on Instagram while posing with her printed book on the next episode of her “Throttle Therapy” podcast alongside the publication’s illustrator. She said: “My first children’s book ‘Kat’s Magic Helmet’ is officially out today. I’m so excited to share it with you!

“It holds great significance for me because it was influenced by my early racing days! It is available on Amazon (link in bio) if you would want to check it out. On my podcast Throttle Therapy, I will discuss it with my dear friend (who is now a book illustrator) @ashleigh.illustrates and @redracerbooks. I’m really thankful today, and I hope you all like it as much as I do. The Brit’s efforts were praised by Indy 500 racer Lyn St. James, who said: “Katherine is a very talented race car driver, but more importantly, she shares the magic of desire and self-confidence, so others can believe in their dreams.” Young people, particularly females, can be motivated by her, even if not everyone aspires to be a competitive athlete or race car driver.

In the past, Legge criticized her haters and swore to ignore them simply. “I have a thick skin,” she added. My time and effort are not worth it. Since I wouldn’t ask them for their opinions, I can honestly state that it doesn’t bother me in the least. I pay attention to the opinions of people I respect, including my coworkers, managers, partners, family, friends, and those who have been there before. “I want to be crystal clear about this, we condemn this behavior,” NASCAR Commissioner Steve Phelps said in response to the hate speech Legge has been subjected to. This is unacceptable; it is not fit for the world, sports, or NASCAR. We want this woman to join NASCAR because she has a great track record of accomplishment in all motorsports. There is just no place for their views and hatred in NASCAR, so they can leave it there.
