People, Chase Elliott has most likely accomplished all that can be accomplished in NASCAR. a Cup Series title, numerous victories, and earning the most popular driver award seven times in a row. Yes, that victory in the Daytona 500 is still pending, but you get the idea. The driver for Hendrick Motorsports is only 29 years old! Even though Elliott is the ideal NASCAR driver, he has been criticized on multiple occasions for lacking “personality.” Instead, he is charged with failing to smile even after winning. And with the latest Instagram video from Hendrick Motorsports, the same fan tirade has returned. This is also the reason why NASCAR fans have begun disparaging the MPD award in recent years. Some supporters believe he isn’t deserving due to a of personality.
Indeed, Elliott prefers to remain silent! “Aside from racing, I like a private existence where I can do the things I enjoy. He isn’t the loudest or most hostile driver in the garage. He isn’t frequently featured in interviews. He like to be brief and direct, even during required news appearances. Furthermore, outside of work, Rick Hendrick doesn’t know anything about Elliott. “I have no idea what else he does.” Not all fans understand Elliott’s desire to maintain this mystery. Chase Elliott is called out!
Look, everyone, Elliott has taken care of this before, and he’s been clear: he would not change his personality.
Regardless of the amount of criticism he receives. As you may remember, in 2021, a Cup Series driver received hurtful remarks about them online and responded. Elliott was also involved. “Chase Elliott is the most boring man on earth, even in the middle of a rivalry,” was one criticism made about him. Elliott responded to this by saying, “Thank you. Thank you. In fact, it signifies a great deal. It’s obvious that Chase Elliott doesn’t care what people think of him. That’s most likely the reason we don’t see him much on social media, signing autographs for fans, or engaging with people in general.
And if this makes him “boring,” then I’m sure the #9 driver doesn’t mind! What recently sparked this discussion was an Instagram video from Hendrick Motosports, in which Elliott was asked, “What’s Chase Elliott’s inspirational quote of the week?” Elliott replied, “Stay the course.” This means to “keep going strongly to the end of a race or contest,” or simply to see a difficult task through to the end. While that’s a nice quote, fans were hoping for something juicy, fun, or even a little controversial from him, but he chose to respond in a way that was all thanks to Bill Elliott, who also happens to be the winner of the most MPD awards in the history of the sport.
As you may remember, Elliott discussed this in a previous interview, saying, “My dad (Bill Elliott) and my family had a great connection to the fans, too.” Additionally, he remained loyal to himself and prioritized his priorities. After going about their business, they returned home and made an effort to avoid creating a dramatic situation. I greatly admire the way they conducted their business. I’ve simply tried to do myself and move on. Fans want to see some personality, even though Elliott is all about directing his energy in the proper directions!
Elliott’s “quote of the week” is criticized by fans. Elliott is the “silent type,” thus it wouldn’t be accurate to suggest he lacks personality. Bill Elliott was also known for being a clean racing car driver, and people adored him for it. That also applies to the majority of the guys at Hendrick Motorsports, doesn’t it? None of them—not even William Byron, Alex Bowman, or Larson—are casual. or simply lets their thoughts go wild. Naturally, Bowman will occasionally be sarcastic. However, they typically pay close attention to what they say. Take the recent Homestead weekend, for example. In the Xfinity race, Sam Mayer got in Larson’s back. His triple attempt was wrecked by this, but Larson did not yell at him. It feels like at HMS, they let the racing do the talking.
Even while that’s good, it couldn’t hurt to have some fun. And when there is any personality and banter, they adore it. Ross Chastain is so adored because of this. To celebrate, Guy smashes a watermelon, pulls a hail melon, and destroys the people he likes. Chastain may be a bit much at times, but you get the idea. Fans are also sick of Elliott and his uninteresting, unremarkable personality. He was called out by one supporter. “(Elliott) has the personality of a box of tissues,” he wrote. Another fan wrote, expressing the same sentiment. “He lacks the personality that sandpaper possesses.”
Elliott would undoubtedly remain steadfast even if he produced a reply video to these remarks. “I’m not the kind of guy that’s going to seek out attention like that,” Elliott has previously stated. In essence, he won’t make a special effort to accomplish something that won’t benefit his racing career or him in any manner. Elliott also believes that his fans like him just the way he is. “I’ve made a concerted effort to avoid becoming involved in that aspect of things. Even while I’m thankful for it and my fans have been nothing short of amazing throughout my career, I really just make an effort to concentrate on the things that are important to me. And I think my real admirers will appreciate that.
Obviously not these fans. Fans responded to Elliott with one-liners in the comment box, such as “How boring lol.” Or much worse, a single word: “Lmao.” Even worse, a fan simply sent the “😑” emoji, which is a dissatisfied face. The idea is that Elliott’s admirers most likely wish for him to be more active, expressive, and to occasionally grin. Would it hurt, to be fair? However, don’t you think Elliott has changed a little this season? At COTA, he nearly incited reprisals and destroyed Ross Chastain. We haven’t seen that Elliott very often. This season, he might be able to embrace that aspect of himself more.
