After winning the championship race in Phoenix in 2024, Logano is currently the defending champion and a three-time Cup Series winner. But with only one top-10 result in the first nine races this season and a 24th-place showing at Bristol on Sunday, the driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford has seen his title defense begin in startling fashion. According to Burton, “something with the 22 [Logano and his team] doesn’t feel right” on NASCAR’s Inside The Race. “I don’t know, I just feel like something’s not…it’s not all there right now.” “I know that duo, I know how good they are, we all know how good they are.”

Jeff Burton renders a judgment regarding Team Penske. Logano is not alone in his struggles, even though he has perhaps the worst performance of the three Team Penske drivers in the Cup Series thus far this season. Overall, the team has not won in 2025. Ryan Blaney’s greatest performance in the No. 12 position was P4 at Atlanta, while Austin Cindric’s best performance in the No. 2 position was P6 at Las Vegas. However, considering how successfully Team Penske has finished seasons in recent years, Burton, who was chosen as one of NASCAR’s 75 best drivers in 2023, says he is not yet prepared to make a judgment on the team. “I believe they are moving faster now in the regular season. “I gotta wait until they get to the playoffs, they’ve just been so spectacular in the playoffs.”
