Harrison Burton will make a comeback this weekend with Rick Ware Racing after being replaced by Josh Berry at Wood Brothers Racing at the close of the previous season due to his lowest average finish of any full-time Cup Series driver. In addition to earning a surprise playoff place, Burton’s triumph at Daytona last autumn earned him a spot in the All-Star Race. It also made him the first driver born in the 2000s to win a Cup Series race. With six top-ten results in the first 12 events of the season, he has returned to the Xfinity Series with AM Racing and is performing admirably.
“The All-Star Race is one of those events you grow up dreaming about, so to have a spot on the grid is really special,” Burton said in a statement regarding his comeback to the Cup Series, albeit for a race that doesn’t pay out points. My career took a significant turn last year when I won at Daytona, and I’m grateful to Rick and the whole RWR crew for allowing me to make the most of that victory by entering me in their vehicle for the All-Star Race. In the Xfinity Series, we’ve been gaining a lot of momentum, and I’m excited to take that momentum into North Wilkesboro and face the top players in the league. Additionally, team owner Rick Ware stated: “Participating in the NASCAR All-star Race for the first time is a milestone moment for our organization.
Being included in the main event is an honor, and we’re equally delighted to provide Harrison the chance to participate in the All-Star Race. He truly deserved to be here and earned his place. It’s a significant chance for us both.
