In March, Christopher Bell was a major topic among NASCAR fans. When the playoffs began in August, he was making it very evident that the No. 20 JGR squad would be a formidable opponent by winning consecutive races. However, Bell hasn’t won in a long time. Since his last win at the Phoenix Raceway Shriners Children’s 500, NASCAR has held eight points-paying races. The native of Oklahoma has achieved three top-three finishes throughout that period. In response to the continuous winless streak, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver stated in a recent interview (via Speedway Digest): “I wouldn’t say that I’m not surprised that we haven’t won because winning is really hard, but I’ve definitely been surprised about just lacking pace on the intermediate tracks.”

Kansas, in my opinion, was marginally superior to our performances at Texas and Darlington, so if we can take another stride like that heading into Charlotte, we might be in the running for the victory, but right now we are obviously falling short,” he continued. The next point-paying race for Christopher Bell is set for Sunday, May 25, at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The 400-lap competition, known as the Coca-Cola 600, will be streamed live on Amazon Prime. This year, Prime Video will broadcast five races, the first of which will be this one. Bell has started at Charlotte six times before. Last year, he won the one-and-a-half-mile race in just his fourth start with Joe Gibbs Racing. Consequently, the Toyota icon will try to defend his win at the Concord-based intermediate speedway.

Christopher Bell is prepared to return to Mexico City with Xfinity

For the first time since 1958, NASCAR will hold a points-paying race outside of the United States in about a month. The 100-lap feature is set for June 14 in Mexico City, Mexico’s famed Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. It goes without saying that Christopher Bell, a frequent participant in the NASCAR Cup Series, will compete in that race. However, he has more job to do that weekend than only participate in the Cup Series competition. At the 2.674-mile racetrack, Christopher Bell will pilot Sam Hunt Racing’s No. 24 car in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. At the moment, Sam Hunt Racing enters the series with two cars, one full-time and one part-time.

The No. 26 car is driven by Dean Thompson full-time, while the No. 24 part-time entry has been driven by Corey Heim, Ryan Truex, and Jeffrey Earnhardt on alternate occasions. CW will broadcast the 65-lap race starting at 4:30 p.m. ET, and MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will provide live radio updates.
