Breaking news: Massive Shock As Former Bengals High-Star Joins Eagles

Jun 3, 2024

Former Bengals OL Max Scharping joins Eagles

Another ex-Cincinnati Bengals player has now signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.

On Monday, the Eagles inked a one-year deal with free agent guard Max Scharping.

Originally a second-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2019, Scharping played college football at Northern Illinois and has participated in 79 NFL games, making 33 starts. In the last two seasons with Cincinnati, he featured in 31 games primarily as a backup.

While Scharping did not start any regular-season games, he did start three playoff games in the 2022 season following an injury to Alex Cappa. In the most recent season, Scharping appeared in all 17 games but had limited playing time, with only 13 offensive snaps and 72 more on special teams for field goal attempts.

Scharping is now part of a growing list of former Bengals players who have transitioned to the Eagles, including wide receiver John Ross, offensive tackle Fred Johnson, tight end CJ Uzomah, kicker Jake Elliott, and quarterback Will Grier.

The Eagles are set to visit Paycor Stadium on October 27th for a Week 8 showdown against the Bengals.
