The Steelers made several roster changes, including placing linebacker Kwon Alexander on reserve/injured list.
Alexander suffered what coach Mike Tomlin said was an Achilles tendon injury Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
The team also released guard Joey Fisher and tight end Scottie Washington from the practice squad.
With both Alexander and Cole Holcomb on the reserve/injured list, Tomlin said in his weekly press conference that the team will rely on linebacker Elandon Roberts.

“We’re going to rely on Elandon Roberts, which is why we brought him here,” Tomlin said.
“He’s a mentally defensive quarterback, a very good communicator and a player who plays from the neck up very well.
He does a really good job in those areas. We didn’t use him in those situations or in those moments when we lost possession, but we could expand his role in some of these areas to improve his communication and fluidity in those areas.
But these are things you can think about during your week of preparation.”
